Sunday Scaries, Monday Blues, Hump Day?
A few weeks ago I talked about that ‘Sunday Feeling’. In my house we call it Sunday Scaries and it turns out I am not alone!
Some of you it fell on other days ‘Monday Blues’ or ‘Wednesday Hump Day’…but the reoccurring theme is that we all seem to have a point in the week where we get a slump, overwhelmed or low.
Strangely, I found comfort in knowing I am not alone. As a child I had a pretty rough time with anxiety. I am fortunate to have grown up in a loving household but from the age of 2/3 signs of my anxious behaviour started to show.
*cue my school years* - Annual Report – “If Roisin applied herself and stopped talking she would be top of the class”. I hated school.
I came home from the my first day of school running into my Dad’s arms. So proud I made it through my first day, I immediately asked “ How times do I have to go back until I am finished?”. His big blue eyes saw the upset in my voice – He didn’t have the heart to tell me I had years to go.
And so Sunday Scaries began because the doom of Monday was coming.
To this day I hate the smell of roast dinners and the theme tune for Heart Beat sends my stomach into knots.

At the close of my yoga classes I say – “It is a true blessing to be alive, use today wisely.”
Ignoring a day mentally is like reducing our lifespan! Sounds extreme, but it's true. Why waste the precious time we earned after a week of hard work? Recognising this made me rethink my mindset.
How do I beat Sunday Scaries?
1. Go on an adventure. Nothing crazy but I try to go somewhere or do something new. A new walk route, film (always Disney on a Sunday!), a recipe. Just something to create a new experience for me to reflect on.
2. Self care. I know it is a cliché but self care Sundays work for me. I take the time to do a hair mask, separate my eyebrows! All the things I don’t have time for in the week. Starting the week feeling fresh and shiny.
3. Music! Fill your house with the sounds that you love. Music is medicine for the soul. My current go to album this month is by JUNGLE and I think you will love it too. Click Here To Listen To It.
4. Yes I have to say it BECAUSE IT WORKS! Yoga… just roll out your mat. 5 minutes? You won’t regret it. I usually roll mine out while I am watching a film; sitting in pigeon pose will be your new best friend!
5. Switch that phone off. This is the key to a good night’s sleep and most of all to be present. You worked so hard all week for this free time so stop looking to see if Geoff emailed you back. I am telling you now he hasn’t – Geoff has cooked a lasagne from scratch, had a pedicure while listening to Celine Dion and is now watching a film in pigeon pose.
6. Be more Geoff!

This month I have created 4 different classes to help guide you through those sticky moments in the week. They are released weekly and will be on the library for you to repeat as many times as you wish!
Layered with good music, movement and meditation to soothe your soul.
Soul Surrender – Gentle flow to release any feisty tension from the body backed with a beautiful soul playlist to distract the mind from going fishing!
Healing Home – Breath work to help drop into your heart and feel connected. We take softer and longer holds. This is like a big hug.
Hips Don’t Lie – Cheeky and uplifting. A vinyasa that shakes things up in your body to help you sift fact from fiction.
Into The Deep – Bring cushions and blankets. This session is all about harmony of energies. We need fire and water but we want them to be balanced. We will start with movement and close wrapped up on the ground.
